Lacar Lake, surrounded by forests of Pellin (the Argentine version of Oak tree), Lenga, Coihues and Nires, is the most unique frame for field trips and the practice of water sports.
And for those who are after more action, Hua Hum River (born of Lacar Lake with waters flowing into the Pacific Ocean) offers the possibility of running mildly challenging white waters.
Caleufu, Quilquihue, Malleo and Chimehuin rivers are but a few examples of fly-fishing lovers' most favorite places. The dominant species are brown, rainbow and brook trout.
In winter, Chapelco Ski Resort offers a wide variety of winter sports, and has been traditionally known as the "family ski-resort".
